UOG violence triggers national warning — PNG Vision4040 CEO and Office of Prophet call on National Government to confront bloodshed and violence as a spiritual crisis

PORT MORESBY: Vision4040 (PNG) has a issued a National Prophetic Call for Government Accountability on Violence and Bloodshed.
The Founder and CEO of PNG Vision4040 Ltd and Head of the Office of Prophet, Christina Kewa-Swarbrick, has issued a bold national appeal following the ongoing University of Goroka (UOG) violence, calling on the Government of Papua New Guinea to address the country’s rising bloodshed and unrest as a spiritual and moral crisis—not merely a law-and-order issue.

In her statement titled “Bloodshed in PNG is a Spiritual Problem”, Kewa-Swarbrick described the atmosphere of violence sweeping across the country as a spiritual transaction defiling the nation’s foundations.

“The spirit of oppression is blood-thirsty in this nation and wants our resources, our territories, and our people,” she said. “There is violence and bloodshed everywhere. Where is our Christian Government and our Christian Constitution?”

UOG Violence a Mirror of National Breakdown

Referring to the current unrest at the University of Goroka (UOG), which has led to student deaths, destruction of properties, and mass repatriation of students by their provincial governors, Kewa-Swarbrick said the events are a prophetic warning to the entire nation.

“What we are seeing in Goroka is a spiritual alarm bell,” she said. “When our learning institutions become war zones and our young leaders spill blood on campus, it is no longer just a student problem—it is a national and spiritual one.”

Kewa-Swarbrick acknowledged the efforts of provincial governors who intervened to repatriate students, but warned that relocation alone cannot remove the spirit of violence from the nation.

“We must not just move students; we must move the spiritual strongholds that are driving these outbreaks of rage and bloodshed,” she added.

From Reaction to Restoration

She criticized the Government’s tendency to react only after chaos erupts, saying it is time to shift from reactive measures to proactive healing strategies.

“You cannot cure a national wound by placing bandages over it,” she said. “We must address the root causes — spiritual, cultural, and territorial — that keep bleeding through every generation.”

Kewa-Swarbrick called for a territorial healing program, where peace and restoration efforts are conducted region by region, province by province, addressing the unique spiritual wounds within each area.

“PNG needs more than curfews and police deployments — it needs soul restoration,” she said. “Every territory carries a story, and until that story is healed, the nation cannot be whole.”

Through PNG Vision4040 (National Prophetic Platform), Kewa-Swarbrick said her organization is developing holistic frameworks for national peace, integrating prophetic insight, civic reform, and social reconciliation.

“Vision4040 offers holistic solutions to help the Government and the Church restore peace from the ground up,” she said. “We must partner spirituality with governance if we want lasting change.”

She reiterated that every Government of the day bears spiritual accountability to uphold the Christian Constitution and the principles of justice, peace, and unity.

The Bible in Parliament: A Covenant, Not a Symbol

“The Bible that sits in Parliament is not symbolic—it’s a covenant document between God and this nation,” she said. “When blood cries from the ground, leadership must respond spiritually, not politically.”

Kewa-Swarbrick called for an urgent National Prophetic Dialogue for Peace and Territorial Healing, involving political, church, and traditional leaders to collectively address the spiritual roots of violence.

Bougainville, Enga, and the Blood of the Land

“We never dealt with the bloodshed of Bougainville, and now that same curse is resurfacing in Enga, Porgera, and our universities,” she said. “Until the blood is cleansed from our land, our nation will not see true freedom.”

She concluded with a firm prophetic reminder:
“Life is in the blood — and until we deal with the blood on our soil, peace will remain a stranger to Papua New Guinea.”
