USA based Licensed Psychotherapist Exposed for Private Abuse, Sexual Content and Threats to Children

PORT MORESBY- AMERICA: A US‑licensed psychotherapist who also presents himself as an apostle, prophet and certified life coach has been exposed for privately abusing a Papua New Guinean publisher and faith‑based worker, using both professional authority and claimed spiritual power .He harassed, intimidated and destabilised her during vulnerable periods of her life as a woman, mother and professional.

Dr Godfried Banning reportedly targeted Christina Kewa since 2020.
Kewa is the founder of VISION4040, a faith-based enterprise supporting communities across Papua New Guinea.
He allegedly subjected her to emotional, sexualized, and spiritual abuse.
His messages included threats directed at her children.

Christina Kewa said the abuse began during a time when she was vulnerable, going through an international court case while caring for her children and navigating personal challenges in her home and marriage.

“He would call me from New Jersey during my sleeping hours and try to pursue long conversations. When I refused his contact, he would call me names like ‘Jezebel’ and ‘witch’,. He showed no empathy or remorse for my situation and instead accused me of lying. The verbal, emotional and mental abuse has gone on for so long. My family and I endured years of trauma, and the last thing we need is a licensed therapist using his psychology to destroy me and my children.”

When Christina rejected his advances and abuse, Banning reportedly escalated his attacks, used manipulative and abuse tactics, targeting her prophetic ministry, professional work, and faith-based products and services, including DBUM Bible Technology, causing institutional damage and undermining her credibility in the wider community.

Kewa told The PNG Herald- ” In the last day or two, he sent another abusive damaging email calling me names and wanting to see me rot. I am coming out in public to confront his private abuse . I believe I’m not the only woman around the world he has abused in this manner.”

Banning used Spirituality and his Industry knowledge as a gateway to subject her to his manipulation and when Kewa rejected his advances, he would send her private abusive messages. Some of Banning’s private messages sent in the last few days and preserved by Kewa, include statements such as:

“You have no shame! You don’t fear God!”
“The fiery judgement of God will visit you and your children!”
“You bracing greedy Jezebel witch sex pervert, you have no fear of God in you!!!”
“You blocked me, but God can’t be blocked!”
“You’re so demonized and you don’t even know it! Greed will take you to hell!”
“God will surely judge you! I release the fiery judgment that fell upon Jezebel upon you and your children. You will reap what you sow into your next generation.”

“Threatening my children and invoking multi-generational judgment is terrifying and unacceptable,” Kewa said. “He presents himself as a spiritual leader and licensed professional, yet his actions are destroying me, my work, and my family.”

Other professionals contacted by the PNG Herald said Banning’s behaviour was out of professional alignment. They noted that he used his psychology training to manipulate and take advantage of someone emotionally and mentally vulnerable, during a time when she was facing an international court case. His actions added to the trauma, and as a professional, he would have understood his ethical boundaries.

Banning also claims to be a certified life coach. He reportedly sought to use Christina’s spiritual frameworks, including DBUM Bible Technology, to counsel his own patients, misappropriating her work without consent.

Multiple practitioners contacted by the PNG Herald describe the communications and content by Banning as spiritually damaging, professionally unethical, and dangerous, particularly given Banning’s licensed mental health authority. They warn that his actions constitute a serious abuse of power, combining psychotherapy influence with claimed spiritual leadership.

Christina Kewa emphasizes she had no personal relationship with Banning and never met him in person. She did not consent to any of his contact. All material relating to the conduct has been retained for public, professional, and institutional accountability.

Banning did not respond to efforts made by The PNG Herald to contact him.
