Why Nations Fail: The “Missing Link” and DBUM Solutions
Christina Kewa-Swarbrick- The Missing Link- where humanity has failed to programme: "the field."

PORT MORESBY : A holistic human development solutions provider has called on humanity to refocus on restoring a key foundational link believed to be contributing to stagnation in people and nations.

Christina Kewa-Swarbrick, founder of PNG Vision4040, who made the call recently while in Papua New Guinea running leadership trainings, said that despite advances in governance, education and economic planning, a deeper structural issue continues to be overlooked.

According to Kewa-Swarbrick, the missing link is embedded in Genesis 2:5–7, which she described as a foundational blueprint relevant to both human and national development.

“As a Kingdom CEO, with a visionary platform such as Vision4040, our focus is to develop holistic solutions that are relevant for humanity,” Kewa-Swarbrick said.
“We are seeing effort everywhere, but not alignment — and that is where stagnation begins.”

STAGNATION DESPITE EFFORT

Kewa-Swarbrick said many nations continue to struggle despite sustained investment in infrastructure, leadership development and reform agendas. She noted that modern development approaches often prioritise outputs while neglecting the underlying environment in which people, institutions and systems are expected to function.

“Activity has increased, but outcomes have not kept pace,” she said. “That tells us the issue is not effort, but foundation.”

GENESIS AS A REFERENCE POINT

She pointed to Genesis 2:5–7, which describes a pause before growth — no rain, no cultivation and no visible productivity — yet the environment, referred to as “the field,” is established first.

“The passage shows that creation waited for order,” she said. “Life entered only after the environment was prepared.”

DBUM BIBLE TECHNOLOGY AS A FRAMEWORK

Kewa-Swarbrick said this principle underpins DBUM Bible Technology, which she described as a framework designed to address foundational alignment rather than surface-level symptoms.

“DBUM focuses on restoring original design and positioning,” she said. “It addresses the field — the invisible structures that determine whether people, institutions and nations function as intended.”

A CALL TO REVISIT FOUNDATIONS

Kewa-Swarbrick said restoring foundational alignment is critical as societies face increasing complexity and uncertainty.

“We cannot keep accelerating without correcting order,” she said. “Until foundations are restored, progress will remain fragile.”
She believes this thought pattern to correct the “missing link” — setting the foundation and field — must be embedded within education curricula as a foundational framework.
